Fencing Services

We cover all aspects of boundary fencing. Closeboard, overlap panels, security, stock and elaborate panels. We use a variety of post materials – timber, concrete, metal and plastic. Each material has its good and bad points and we will recommend the best suited product to your environment.

Our timber supplier kiln dries and treats the timber on site giving us the best (to our knowledge) products on the market. The timbers are kiln dried to approximately 70% and replaced with treatment via pressure treatment. These are called class 4 hazard which is for in ground use

whereas many suppliers currently do not offer this product and in many cases do not know of it.

The fencing can be as tall and as long as you require it.

6ft high Closeboard fencing using the class 4 hazard timber 100mm x 125mm posts and 25mm x 150mm gravel boards. All posts at this height are sunk in 600mm of concrete and all fixings used are galvanised. Where possible we like to finish the fencing with a capping rail which helps with preventing splitting the top of the feather edge boards.

 6ft high Closeboard fencing using the class 4 hazard timber 100mm x 125mm posts and 25mm x 150mm gravel boards. This is sloping and sometimes if the slope is too steep the capping cannot look as good, given the feather edge boards are stepped. This does however avoid having staggered fencing in the garden like you have with panels and creates a nice neat sloping line.

This is what you see from the rear of a closeboard fence - the 3 arris rails, posts and capping rail. Both sides are nice to look at but we do recommend if your property backs on to a public path / grounds that the rails face inwards for security. Rails can make it slightly easier to climb over.

Closeboard fencing with concrete mortised posts and concrete gravel boards. Concrete lasts forever in theory but can crack with frost over a long period of time.

8ft high Softwood woven panels on 100mm x 125mm posts sunk 900mm in concrete. Additional support has been installed to retain the neighbour's garden.

 Cedar batten fencing attached to an existing fence. With Cedar only stainless steel fixings should be used as galvanised / steel fixings leave a dark stain.

Green treated lap panels with timber posts and caps.

Brown / orange dipped treated panels with timber posts.

Brown / orange dipped treated panels with concrete slotted posts and concrete gravel boards.

Brown / orange panels attached to an existing lower fence, no posts required on this one and just screwed the panels together with battens on the rear.
